Grails- Doomsdayer's Holiday
Genre: Instrumental/Psychadelic post-rock
Favorite track: "Reincarnation Blues" and "Acid Rain"
This band rules and this album helps me remain calm on some of my worst days. It's a pretty artsy album and not for the faint of heart (i.e. the first and title track starts off immediately with some disturbing screams), but all in all give it a chance. Also i don't feel like posting to their myspace so go google 'em and support 'em.

Girlfriends- Girlfriends
Genre: Good stuff
Favorite Track: The Apocalypse Made Me Brave
You can either download his record for free off his bandcamp or you can throw some change his way. Either way it is a solid and catchy record for free/cheap.
Salome- Terminal
Genre: Doom/Sludge
Favorite Track: Master Failure
Featuring Katherine Katz from Agoraphobic Nosebleed. Really fucking solid and heavy. One of the best doom records that has kept me listening over and over again for a while.

As a side note you can read an interview with Katherine Katz here. She is one fucking cool cat.

Prince Paul- A Prince Among Thieves
Myspace
Genre: Hip Hop/Conceptual
Favorite Track: War Party, You Got Shot, and The Men In Blue
From the brilliant mind of Prince Paul comes A Prince Among Thieves. Prince Paul is a legend in hip hop (being a founding member of Gravediggaz, a producer of De La Soul's first three albums and a member of Stetsasonic) and created, in my opinion, one of the best conceptual albums of all time. The album is about an aspiring emcee named Tariq played by Breezly Brewin (of Juggaknots) and features appearances from Everlast of House of Pain, De La Soul, Kool Keith, Big Daddy Kane, Chubb Rock, Biz Markie, Chris Rock (who plays a gay prostitute), Sadat X of Brand Nubian, Xzibit, Kid Creole, Special Ed, The RZA, and Buckshot of Black Moon. If you have not heard this album, I highly recommend it.

The Horrors- Vent
Black Moon- Enta Da Stage
The best I could come up with is their Last.FM page:
Last FM
Genre: Alternative Hip Hop
Favorite Track: Slave (But all of them are amazing)
This album, fucking blew my mind when it comes to hip hop. Holy shit, every single one of these tracks are perfection. The beats are mellow and well done, the MC's voice (Buckshot Shorty) is mellow, raspy, and full of energy all at the same time. I absolutely love this album.

Dangers- Messy, Isn't It?
Myspace-Well its not their myspace but close enough
Genre: ....hardcore/punk(not hardcore punk, more like a meshing of the two seperate genres.)
Favorite track: I haven't even gone through the entire album yet but so far if you like one, you'll like them all
I just found this band literally like 15-20 minutes ago. It is so intense and passionate. I don't really know how to describe the music. It's like one of the best blends of passionate hardcore and punk I've ever heard. The guitars are heavy and catchy, featuring some of the coolest, original breakdowns I've heard in awhile. The drummer is really fucking good, but you kind of have to be to play hardcore/punk. The vocalist just screams at the top of his lungs about such topics as his mother's suicide and how everyone in the world is more fucked than jesus carrying a cross through a desert. Really, check this band out. It's beautiful, catchy hardcore/punk that is pretty underground. The best kind of punk.

Benea Reach
Myspace
Genre: Melodic Mathcore
Favorite track: Right now....Sentiment
This album has been on repeat on my ipod for awhile. Apart from sigur ros and elliott smith this is the only other band I've been listening to almost exclusively. There are just a lot of breakdowns with some really melodic parts thrown in, plus the singer has one of the best scream ranges, if not the best, that I've heard in quite a while. Listen, you may be disappointed but I don't give a shit, cause I love the album, but you may like it, and its always worth a listen to find new music you might enjoy.

Souls Of Mischief- '93 Till Infinity
Genre: Alternative Hip Hop
Favorite Track: Every single damn one.
Okay, I cannot stress enough how much this album means to me. I discovered this album about two years ago and it is literally my favorite hip hop album of all time. Out of any genre this album is at least in the top three. That's how much this album has influenced me and shit.
I know, I know, saying your favorite track is all of the tracks on one album is kind of lame, but in this case it's true. However, My two personal favorites are '93 Till Infinity (title track) and Tell Me Who Profits. This group is from Oakland, California and they are part of Hieroglyphics along with Del Tha Funkee Homosapien, Pep Love, and Casual. This album is just pure perfection.

Kowloon Walled City- Gambling On The Richter Scale
Teen Cthulhu- Ride The Blade
Paul Baribeau- S/T
myspace
Genre: Folk/Indie
Favorite Track: Brown Brown Brown
I've been lazy about posting things lately so here I come getting back into the swing of things with some Paul Baribeau. He is sloppy and sings with his heart and soul. It is just one man and his guitar, but there is no need for anyone else. Someone showed me this a little while ago and I just cannot stop listening to his songs. They are short and out of control, playing by no rules, but his own.

Maths- Descent

Genre: Hardcore/Screamo
Favorite Track: Belief In Sorrow, Belief In Hope
I have become bored with most Screamo bands recently. I feel like they are all playing the same song. This band brings it to a whole new level. With this Screamo revival going on most bands are just boring, but this band is amazing. Their passion bleeds from every chord and lyric and I cannot get enough. Please listen to this band.

Mouse On The Keys
Myspace
Genre: Post-prog rock/Jazz
Favorite song(s): Spectres De Mouse, Soil
Alright I have been so into this band and a bunch of other bands like them. So this is the first installment of lostprophet1's japanese prog/jazz shit. It's amazing. There is really no way to explain this except that its pretty technical post rock. The instrumentation is very jazzy. the percussion is a little more post-rocky but thats a good thing. Jazz drumming usually bores the hell out of me, no matter how good they might be. This is Mouse On The Key's EP Sezession and their full length An Anxious Object. Plus its always awesome to be like "I listen to japanese prog/jazz. Oh youve never heard of it? Obviously..."

Dynospectrum- The Dynospectrum
Genre: Alternative Hip Hop
Favorite Track: The Winter Moon
Okay, this is definitely Slug's best work (in my opinion) Every track that Ant produces just blends so perfectly with all of their voices. They only made one album in 1998. Dynospectrum is Slug, I Self Divine, Beyond, and Swift. This album is a must have in my opinion, no matter what your taste in music I'm sure at least one of these tracks will please you.
